Eva Kot’átková

Eva Kot’átková was born in Prague 1963, where she still lives and works. Kot’átková grew up in an environment where education and instruction played a primary role in shaping people’s character, and during a historic time of great change for her country that, following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, began to question the very cornerstones of Czech society. The artist analyses situations that generate conditions of restriction and imposition, with particular respect to how social control is exerted and exercises its presence in the public sphere, from school life to adulthood.
